Our San Miguel de Allende Art Initiative
Art as a Language of the Spirit
A place in nature dedicated to creating art experiences that combine therapies and physical-mental well-being practices. We include custom experiences from the local culture of the magical city of San Miguel de Allende that inspire and complement the creative process of artists and adventurers.
Nave Tao Art Residency is a transformation initiative based on self-knowledge through a therapeutic and spiritual approach to art.
The foundation is hosted in the outskirts of San Miguel de Allende. It is an entire property utilized for arts and well-being specially designed to find inspiration, creativity and dynamic introspection.
We also work as a bridge between the artist and the city in terms of culture, networking, fun and enjoyment.
“We believe that EVERYONE is an artist. We show people that never believed they were artists, that they truly are in many ways, and for those that already identify themselves as artists, we help them to amplify their creative horizons. So when we say “artist”, we really are speaking to anyone and everyone.”
About the Founding Artist
Joshua Xolox
My work is inspired by human ideals, by mysteries and universal truths, by myths and popular legends, by the reconstruction of reality from the freedom of art and the mystical connection with reality.
I believe in art as the language of the spirit and in the healing power that exists in its realization. I believe in the artist as a channel and the energetic conduit that translates higher realms of consciousness and information into form, images and sound, transforming matter into coded messages of hope, love, magic, connection and transcendence.
I often incorporate elements of sacred geometry. I like to move between the worlds of mind and body, matter and spirit, and heaven and earth, while fusing the abstract with the sacred, the mystical and the divine.
I am a traveler and multidisciplinary artist, author of several collections of photography, poetry, paintings and videos. Founder of the Nave Tao Art Residency in San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, Mx and currently exploring poetic landscaping and experimental architecture.
I have been working with artists and people of all ages that don’t think they are artitsts. I hold sacred space and accompany my guests in a creative process using art as a catalyst for personal processes. This includes different dynamics and combinations of; therapies, physical practices, conscious habits, meditation techniques, cultural exploration and conceptual integration of the 4 elements: air, water, earth and fire. All of this acts as part of the creative process to create a comprehensive and transformative experience.
